Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Crawford was born in 1966 in Illinois, USA. Her beauty was discovered rather unconventionally when she was helping harvest corn. A journalist-photographer noticed her and took a picture of her. Learning that her photo brought unexpected attention was a boost to her self-confidence and she decided to try to become a model.
Being 17, she applied for prestigious Elite Model Management and ended second, and soon after a modeling agency signed her. Having finished her high school studies, she decided to study chemical engineering, as she won a scholarship as an excellent student. Her modeling career was becoming more than promising, though, so she didn’t start her studies eventually.
In 1980-1990, she belonged among top five models in the world together with Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, and Christy Turlington, and they all unknowingly became supermodels. For Cindy, this was a period when she appeared on a huge number of covers of famous magazines, became the face of a lot of marketing campaigns (such as Versace, Escada, Revlon, Maybelline etc.), and was declared one of the most beautiful women in the world.
When she got an opportunity to participate in the development of her own fragrance, she didn’t hesitate and thus helped create amazing compositions expressing femininity, cleanliness, and seductiveness. With the assistance of Givaudan and Mark Buxton, five perfumes were created in her edition, the most famous being Cindy Crawford Feminine or Cindy Crawford Joyful.
